About the AATA Board of Directors Acheivements About the AATA     We welcome ALL people who play, watch, support, or enjoy the game of tennis into our facilities, events, tournaments, programs, and leadership and will not discriminate against any person on the basis of age, sex, race, ethnicity, creed, sexual orientation, physical condition, or national origin. We recognize diversity is essential to achieving our mission (and that of the USTA). “TO PROMOTE AND DEVELOP THE GROWTH OF TENNIS”   The AATA operates completely with players/volunteers who give of their time and money to help grow tennis in our area of Texas.  The USTA Texas Section also generously provides grants to help with plans and growth in many areas of our tennis community such as Quick Start, After School Tennis Programs, Tennis on Campus, Block Parties, Junior Team Tennis, and Grow the Game Grants.   With the Community Expansion Plan of 2007/2008, AATA nows runs three USTA Sanctioned Junior Tournaments and the USTA Leagues in our area, as well as overseeing and promoting Junior Team Tennis.  This means that AATA is the stewart of all funds derived from these events and is responsible to USTA Texas Section for, after expenses, using these monies to grow and promote tennis.   The AATA Board welcomes comments and suggestions from the entire community regarding tennis needs and opportunities.  We are also always looking for volunteers and sponsors.  One hour of your time will make a big difference!   Some volunteer opportunities are: Adult Player Appreciation Picnic Pictures of Teams (At events) Support Staff for Junior Tournaments Junior Team Tennis help Fundraising Sponsorships Player Directory (Blue Book) Publicity
